Why Matrix?
Matrix is a decentralized, open-source communication protocol focused on privacy and federation. For users who value data sovereignty and want their AI agent communication to run on self-hosted infrastructure, Matrix is an ideal platform. OpenClaw (formerly Clawdbot/Moltbot) on Matrix would offer the same autonomous capabilities with decentralized messaging.
Current Status
Matrix integration is in the planning phase. Telegram is available now, Discord and Slack are coming soon. Matrix support will be evaluated based on community demand. Self-hosted OpenClaw users may be able to add Matrix support independently given the open-source nature of the project.
